Ohope Beach is one of the best beaches in New Zealand with 11 kilometres of golden sand and safe swimming waters. The imaginatively titled West End, long a favourite with surfers, is also an access point for Otarawairere Beach, one of the most picturesque beaches in New Zealand.
Ohope itself is a fast growing residential area, with superb views out to sea and a range of attractive properties. The Council has identified further areas for growth which will allow you to secure your dream lifestyle by the beach. You will find that the houses that don’t have direct access to the beach do have sea views, making this an in demand area.
If flat water is more your thing then Port Ohope and the Ohiwa Harbour offer you sheltered inland waters with hundreds of birds making their summer home on the rich mudflats and sandbanks of the inner harbour. The harbour provides a range of recreation opportunities including fishing, water skiing, sailing, kayaking, and windsurfing among the many attractions.
