Lifestyle in the Eastern Bay of Plenty

Few places can rival the Eastern Bay of Plenty when it comes to lifestyle opportunities. The climate is superb and every year the main centre, Whakatane, ranks near or at the top for the sunniest town in New Zealand. Outdoor activities play a large part in the lives of people of the region and clubs and sports facilities cater for a huge range of activities.

Thanks to modern technology it is now possible to escape from the city stresses of traffic, noise, pollution and expensive housing and office rents. Here, you can drive to work in just minutes - and there are no parking meters to worry about. On top of that, the cost of setting up in business here is appreciably lower than in the main centres. Many people are now choosing to relocate and buy or set up business in locations throughout the Eastern Bay of Plenty where life can be enjoyed to the maximum.

Whakatane and Ohope are popular residential locations, with property prices providing excellent value compared with the major centres. Kawerau in particular offers fantastic value for money and offers a great range of properties, as does Opotiki.

Farms and small-to-medium sized lifestyle blocks are popular alternatives for those who prefer the rural life. Health facilities are excellent, with Whakatane Hospital providing a range of health services.
